The picture below was taken from the Sun Gate on the Inca trail above Machu Picchu. You can see the switch back rounds that the buses take to bring tourists up from Aguas Calientes. Double click this picture to see a full size picture.
The above view is after entering Machu Picchu. After you leave the bus, you walk through a gate and the agricultural terraces to reach the religious side of Machu Picchu. You can see the Terrace on the left side with some people walking back to the main gate. Double click this picture to see a larger view.
