The Bund is a popular area along the river in Shanghai. On the right are building which were built in the early 1920's by the British government who controlled china at the time. Shanghai is China's New York City. Across the river is the growing new part of town. To the right of the bund is the old part. We stayed in the old part which was more interesting.

An intersection in Shanghai on a weekend day. Bicycles, motorcycles, and cars all vie for the same street space. It is an exercise in near collision. This was a slow intersection. You can see a person on their bicycle in the middle who is on a cell phone. Cell phones cost the same as regular phones. You can also see people in the back of the motorcycle taxi. and a car taxi behind them.
