In
the historic town of Yucay, in Urubamba, 45 minutes from the city of Cuzco,
between Pisac and Ollantaytambo, you will find the Posada del Inca hotel.
This is where we stayed for 2 nights and used as a jumping off point to go
sightseeing. The hotel was originally
a small monastery founded by the monks of the Santa Catalina de Sena Order back
in 1678. The hotel is right in front of the foothills and in the town of
Yucay. We went on a hike in the foothills behind the hotel and
ending coming out in the main part of Yucay town. Below are some of those
pictures.
Below, is a picture of four farmers with there harvest on their backs. Believe it or not, they were running down the street in this formation. Double click the picture for a larger view.
Below, the main drag in Yucay at dusk. Double click the picture for a larger view.
Below, we ran across two pigs in the road that didn't want to let us pass. Sheila and I being from Canada and NY originally, did not have much pig expertise. We didn't know whether they were attack pigs or not. Turns out they were very benign and let us go past.
